We all know the background of Ross the Boss. Founding member of Manowar, main songwriter along with Joey De Maio , he has nailed us with his brutal sound and I couldn’t wait something different or weak from his solo album under the title “New Metal Leader”.

In 2006 Tarek “MS” Maghary, founding member of Manowar cover band Men At War, had the brilliant idea to team up with Ross for a tribute evening to Manowar’s first albums. That was the first time that Ross had played Manowar songs for years while some of them he would play for his first time ever in front of a live audience!!! There was so much chemistry and energy that he suggested everyone to join him in his solo band and here is the result. The next step from Manowar that only one who has been in them could take.

Great guitars, just like we remember them, with smashing songs that take you away to the times that “warriors” gave men battles with swords or body fights, in castles, in blood, fire and honor... Patrick Fuchs’s voice is just the right one and it’s in no way imitating Eric Adams’s. CARSTEN Kettering’s bass is strong and fits drummer’s, Matze Mayer’s, rhythm section. I couldn’t choose the best one among the songs, maybe “God of Dying”, I guess they are pretty good and each one gives you something different.

The true “warriors” should definitely own this one but shouldn’t try to compare it to Manowar in any way…
