Iron Maiden have revealed the cover artwork (see photo) of their anticipated new album entitled “The Final Frontier” as well as its release date which will be Monday August 16. The cover artwork of the album was created by Melvyn Grant. Before the release of the album, the band has ready one of the album’s tracks, the “El Dorado”, which is available for free digital download worldwide through the band’s official website. Bruce Dickinson says that “El Dorado” is a preview of the forthcoming album and that, as they will be including it in the set of their “Final Frontier World Tour”, they thought it would be great to thank their fans and get them into the “Final Frontier” mood by giving them this song up front of the tour and album release. In early 2010, Iron Maiden and their long-term producer Kevin “Caveman” Shirley reunited at the Compass Point Studios (in Nassau) to record the album and then moved to L.A. to complete the recordings and mix the album. The Compass Point Studios is very familiar to the band, since they recorded there their classic albums “Piece Of Mind” (’83), “Powerslave” (’84) and “Somewhere In Time” (’86).

"The Final Frontier" has a total running time of 76 minutes and 35 seconds and includes the following tracks:

1.         Satellite 15....The Final Frontier

2.         El Dorado

3.         Mother Of Mercy

4.         Coming Home

5.         The Alchemist

6.         Isle Of Avalon

7.         Starblind

8.         The Talisman

9.         The Man Who Would Be King

10.       When The Wild Wind Blows

The “Final Frontier Workd Tour” kicks off in Dallas on June 9 with more than 25 shows in major cities across the U.S. and Canada. Following this, the tour will come to Europe starting in Dublin on July 30 and playing a few major festivals and stadiums up to August 21.

Steve Harris says he is very excited with the new album and the forthcoming tour and reveals that Eddie has changed a bit for this tour but he’s possibly the most outrageous one to date.
