Sunday evening and two of the best Greek rock/hard rock bands, Delivers and Danger Angel were just about to rock for good on the stage of the venue Sfedona, in centre of Athens. Apparently, because of the day (Sunday) and because of the live only having been announced a few days before it was actually held, the attendance of the audience was rather limited. However, the two bands kicked some serious hard rock/heavy metal ass…

Around 22:15 Danger Angel appeared on stage playing totally 5 songs from their upcoming debut album that they are currently recording. The musical constitution of Danger Angel is one of those elements that anyone can sight while watching them on stage. The guys are really working hard and that’s obvious. The band is very tight, they are perfect musically and they have a really good stage appearance and lots of energy. This was their first live appearance with their new singer Jimmy Cage and their setlist kicked off with “Until The Morning Light” from their upcoming –as I mentioned before- debut. Powerful hard rock, powerful performances and powerful stage appearance that went on for another 4 tracks, “Rebel Son”, “Poison Dreams”, the super hit “Runaway Angel” and “C’ Mon Rock Me”. During the last two songs, we saw the singer, a really communicative and overactive performer, coming down from the stage. Rambling around us and prompting us to rock along. Having watched Danger Angel playing more live shows in the past, I must admit that Danger Angel is a band that definitely leaves someone the best of impressions. What does that mean? Apart from the great songs they have, their live performance testifies how great and tied –among them- musicians they are. A really good frontman (Jimmy Cage), 2 absolutely great guitarists (Spiros Foussekis and Ethan Chionos), a bassist solid as a rock (Rudy Rallis), a perfect drummer and a n amazing keyboardist (George Lignos). We wish the guys all the best!

Around 23:00 Delivers took over. For those who have seen Delivers live, they know what to expect from this band: good old classic rock and heavy metal delivered with passion! Their setlist, satisfying as always, included two songs of their own from their album “Their Name Liveth For Evermore”, as well as great covers of The Who (“My Generation”), Dio (“Stand Up And Shout”), Ted Nugent (“Cat Scratch Fever”) and a Motorhead medley of “Orgasmatron” and “Overkill”. George Diamandis (guitar, vocals), Iraklis Bouziotis (bass) and Stelios Kardamakis (drums), that constitute the band, perform live quite often and they know very well what the audience expects from them and so they deliver it. As a highlight of their performance, I’d choose their song “My Name Is Bullet” which is so amazing when delivered on stage!

An evening full of rock, hard rock and heavy metal from two bands whose members are very energetic and –the most important- great musicians. Or else, what should bands or musicians do on stage? The members of both bands obviously and definitely got that something!...We truly hope for more such live concerts and hope that the audience will be more supportive with its presence in the future..
