The day this live took place was the last Friday of February with a cheap ticket (18€) but only about 70 people. Damned Creed, a modern thrash in the likes of The Haunted / Cataract, opened the show. The band is active for only two years so they need more practice to set their style. They seemed gifted players even if their cover in Sepultura’s “Troops Of Doom” or their sound wasn’t that good.

After half an hour they gave their place to The Great Black (with some ex-Mahakala members), the only band of the show that preferred heaviness than speed. They mix stuff like sludge and post metal with groovy parts and several good ideas that need more tightening. It’s an act with less than 1 year of life.

On the contrary, Suicidal Angels are very professional. Their attitude, their stage appearance, the tight sound and their energy are their many characteristics. Their songs are influenced by the early ’80s and while they aren’t so original, they have a lot of faith in what they do. They have a strong following but when they finished most of their fans left without watching the headliners!

Few minutes before midnight Dew-Scented from Germany filled our ears with thunderous thrash metal, totally adjusted in the ’00s demands. Their excellent sound along with the perfect performing of the new members (
Michael Borchers / Martin Walczak – guitars, Marc-Andree Dieken – drums) were guided thoroughly by frontman / leader Leif Jensen who had a correct view of what was going on in the club. Their setlist was somewhat small and the band stayed on stage for about an hour, something that made perfect sense with the number of viewers.

On the total, it was a very interesting night that was ignored by thrashers who, besides the economic package, lost their chance to see one of the genre’s dominant bands today.
