Solid Rock.gr couldn’t miss the “Death To Infidels Tour”, the first world tour for the Kings Of Metal since 1999, and the first indoor European tour since 2007, a tour that came also to Greece and offered us the best 00’s concert in our country. The snowy Berlin was the third stop of the tour which, at this first leg, contained 10 concerts in Germany and one in the Netherlands.
As we arrived at Tempodrom, a great amphitheatric venue with capacity about 5-6000 people, we just caught a glimpse of Metalforce that few days ago they released their first very good studio album. The crowd enjoyed their 40 minute true metal set in contrary with Holy Hell’s show that was once again boring. Nothing more than a Nightwish imitation, that gave us the chance to do a walk at the merchandise and at Tempodrom’s bar for some beers. I think that it’s time for DeMaio to send them away from his company because their presence as Manowar’s support has become tiresome. Having the experience of the best heavy metal live of all times, when Manowar played their six first albums in their intirety at 2008’s Magic Circle Festival, my expectations from the band for the live shows have completely covered. So, without having any criticism mood and with completely ignorance about the new setlist, we were ready for a true heavy metal night. And because from Manowar you don’t ever know what to expect, negative or positive, the first surprise came from the first note. First song of the show is “Call To Arms” and this is the first time in their career that Manowar don’t perform their homonymous song! The show goes ahead with the bombastic “Hand Of Doom” and “God Or Man” and a completely new set with “Kings Of Metal” to be the only 80’s song that we heard along with “Black Wind Fire And Steel” that the last years end their concerts. Not the best night for someone who watched Manowar for his first time but a very good heavy metal concert for the Germans that have the chance to see the Kings Of Metal every year. And for those who dispute the latest Manowar’s releases I have one question: Which big band if comes to Greece and play songs from 2002 and then will succeed to satisfy you? Manowar this night won this bet with their outstanding performance and the very good song choice from their two last albums and the “Thunder In The Sky” EP. Highlights, the epics “Sons Of Odin” , “Swords In The Wind” and of course Eric’s amazing voice. A singer that proves that no matter how many years will pass, he will remain the best heavy metal singer in the universe. The pre-recorded “Crown And the Ring” ended this “different” Manowar concert which contained few poser moments from Demaio but much true heavy metal music.
Next Solidrock’s appointment with the Kings Of Metal, the Magic Circle Festival in Slovenia, hoping a return to their 80’s classic albums. Setlist:
 1. Call To Arms 2. Hands Of Doom 3. Kings Of Metal 4. God Or Man 5. Swords In The Wind 6. Bass Solo 7. Die With Honor 8. Let The Gods Decide 9. Die For Metal 10. Sons Of Odin 11.
