“As You Drown” were created in 2004 in their native country, Sweden. The line up of the band today is different than toriginal, as many things have changed since then, like guitarists and vocalists. In the beginning, when the band was in an experimental period, the vocalist was today’s guitarist Mikael Akerstrom, who after a period wanted to focus on guitar staff.

The particular group in its first official record matches perfectly the speed and brutality of death metal with melodic composing. Even thought it’s their first album, the atrocity of their performance and the skills of all group members are impressive! Tracks such as “Horns”, “Driven By Hatred”, “Swallow”, “The Last”, “Ashes” consist the most deadly anger explosion and they can make even the hardest metalheads submit to this music atrocity! Rough and craft guitars (Mikael Akerstrom, Simon Exner), incessant bass melodies (Robert Karlsson), fast drums Martin Latvala) and animal instincts are being awake by Henrik Blomqvist’s voice. All tracks of the disc are incredibly fast and they don’t let the listener to take a breath! It’s a group that has worked hard and plays perfectly in the studio album.

Many of their demos have been published through magazines and webzines, they have snapped up and the metal audience adores them! Groups such as “As You Drown” give to metalheads a hope that death metal will not extinct and without a doubt they deserve something good for their creativity and their death brutal sound.
