Fair Warning
"Aura"
Label: Metal Heaven
Fair Warning are releasing their sixth album “Aura” through Metal Heaven. The band’s line-up is Tommy Heart on vocals, Helge Engelke on guitars, Ule W. Ritgen on bass and C.C. Behrens on drums. They have lived up to the classic melodic rock sounds by serving the listener with easy-to-remember melodies, some cliché lyrics and delicate yet thundering guitar solos. Starting off with “Fighting for your Love” we get a full understanding of what we are about to hear in the album. Truly this album is composed of heart-felt songs that speak to all lovers. Just the titles of the songs scream out love themes. The ballads “Hey Girl”, “Falling”, and bluesy rock ballad “Holding On” are the typical recipe of classic love ballads. I will not go on to talk about each song individually but the songs that need special recognition are of course “Fighting for Your Love”, “Don‘t Count on Me” - with its fun-filled funky guitar rhythm breaking away from what we would expect to hear, then “Walking on Smiles” and “As Snow White Found Out”. I find the songs started off good, made a little dent and then they picked up the pace again. They keep the old melodic rock style by giving the music a little modern twist as far as sound is involved. Furthermore I‘d like to add that their vocals sound tight and their compositions are well put together.
