Steevi Jaimz
"My Private Hell"
Label: Cargo Records
I remember that when I bought back in 1989 the first Tigertailz record titled “Young & Crazy”, which was released in 1987, their frontman Steevi Jaimz had already left the band and Kim Hooker had replaced him. I never heard anything about Jaimz after that. When Solid Rock’s editor in chief Harris Bakopoulos gave me this release to review it, I couldn’t wait to listen how he would sound like 20 years later. The result? An incredible cd, with strong moments, full of clever bridges, melodies and choruses (that the genre is really missing). Fans of good commercial Hard Rock will definitely appreciate the quality of this record. If I had to choose the best song in the album (although it is rather difficult), I would say “Don’t Say It’s Over”, a song with an exceptional chorus that if Kiss had it, we would talk for THE hit. Chris Laney (who also released an amazing record, “Pure”, earlier this year) has contributed to this album and this is quite obvious both in compositions and the high quality production. I honestly did not see that coming in any way…I suggest that you get and listen to this album. I only hope that Steevi Jaimz will be able to go on tour to present this album and not disappear again. Still young & crazy!!!!!
