Fischel's Beast is the new project of Barry Fischel, original founder and guitarist of speed/thrash band Sentinel Beast. On this new project “Fischel's Beast” Barry recorded some songs that had already been written for what was meant to be Sentinel Beast's second album. Eric Mouriello (bass), Ed Klinger (drums) and Anthony Cross (vocals) complete the band. Besides that, Barry invited Chris Caffery to play solos on the songs "Forbidden Territories" and "Fate of Kings". All the songs of the album have an old-fashioned thrash sound. You can tell that most of them have been composed in the late 80s, even the production sounds old-school speed/thrash metal.

All 5 songs of this EP are mighty compositions that are carefully arranged to perfection in every slight detail. Powerful and aggressive riffs, nice melodies, which personally reminded me of early Blind Guardian in times of “Battalions of Fear”, and straight forward thrash vocal lines so nicely combined that it makes it hard to believe that you are listening to a thrash metal album recorded in 2009

After this EP, I’m really looking forward to the full length album! I haven’t heard such a powerful thrash metal album since 2005 when Kreator released “Enemy of God”.
