The Last Vegas

"Whatever Gets You Off"

Label: Eleven Seven Music

The Last Vegas is new Chicago-based band, that debuted in 2004 with their “Lick ‘Em And Leave ‘Em’ album (obviously inspired by Kiss’ LoveEm And LeaveEm”) that was released through the independent label Get Hip Records. After one more release through the same label (“Seal The Deal”, 2004), the band released a 5-track EP in 2007 titled “High Class Trash” and in 2008, with their self titled album they made it as a support act to Motley Crue.

Whatever Gets You Offis the new release of the band, which actually does not include only new tracks, but 6 out of the 11 tracks on it are tracks from their self titled album of 2008. Personally, I don’t mind this, since with this release I have learnt The Last Vegas! This is a ‘dynamite’ band that we are talking about! Kick-ass, nasty, dirty, straight and full of energy rockn roll! Old school rock ‘n roll influnces, such as Kiss, Ted Nugent, AC/DC to Motley Crue, Hinder and Buckcherry! The band is a ‘killer’!

The album opens with the explosive title track Whatever Gets You Off” (one of the new tracks), a rock ‘n roll hit that shoots your adrenaline upright! “Loose Lips”, “High Class Trash”, “Love Me Bad are some of the album’s highlights, although they are not new ones but originally found in their The Last Vegas” album of 2008. “Im Bad, for which a video has been shot, is yet another hit with a more modern sound that brings in mind moments from Crue’s Saint Of Los Angeles”. Speaking of Crue, among the producers of the album we find Nikki Sixx, while The Last Vegas were chosen by Crue as one of their support acts along with Hinder for their tour for “Saints of Los Angeles” in America.

Consecutively, Whatever Gets You Off” is simply a great record! It has everything you’d expect from an integral rock ‘n roll album. It is a must have album for all fans of American sleaze/hard/rock ‘n roll and if you are into bands like Motley Crue, Kiss, Hinder, Buckcherry etc., this album will blow you away!
