Recently reunited, Treponem Pal, who are named after the bacterium that causes syphilis (Treponema Pallidum), are due to release their 5th studio album "Weird Machine", which is described as "Industrially toxic, metallic, electronic, ethnic, electric, psychedelic, hypnotic and always more eclectic" at the back of their promo.
Due to the fact that I ignored the existence of the group and without being a fan of industrial metal in general, I cannot say that this description struck me well when I first read it. However, the album’s fast and aggressive songs, a few rock elements and some "industrial ballads" removed my initial concern and, to my surprise, I caught myself listening to "Weird Machine" more than once, always discovering new interesting elements that made me like it. "Weird Machine" is definitely an album that will intrigue the band’s fans, and maybe not only them.
All in all, "Weird Machine" includes 14 songs (3 of which are bonus tracks) as well as it is the last work of Paul Raven, (Killing Joke, Ministry, Prong) who collaborated with Treponem Pal for less than a year and died during the last days of the album recordings.
