Hibria
"The Scull Collectors"
Label: Remedy Records
The Brazilian power epic metallers Hibria are releasing this year their second album “The skull collectors” and like all the other power metal bands of their country are influenced by the European sound with no variation from it.
The incredible “Tiger Punch” that starts the album (though its chorus reminds us very intensively of Riot), is representative of the ensemble of the 9 songs that compose the album, which does not get away from the European power style with high tone vocals.
This is the only negative part of the album that is getting tiring for the audience, since during those fifty minutes of music there is not even one mid-tempo part. The positive parts are the flawless production, the fact that most of the songs are at a very high level regarding most of the releases of the last few years, while from the first seconds you will notice the very good voice of the singer. The other band members also stand at high standards and are at a good technical level, especially the bass player. The fans of this sound are sure to be satisfied by this particular release and it is no surprise that they are already successful in Japan. Beyond the first song “Tiger Punch”, other songs that step out are: “Screaming Ghost” and “Sea of Revenge”. If they work a little more at their choruses at their next release, they have all it takes to make an album that will make a difference.
“The Skull Collectors” was released in December in Japan with a bonus track, while in Europe it was released just a few days ago. At the following link you can watch their promotional video for “Tiger Punch” (great song!). |
