Eisregen is one of the worst bands that play metal. They totally justify the opinion that the new, German, metal scene is ridiculous. They might be successful back home since singing in their mother tongue is something that German fans like (think if a Greek band had Greek lyrics…) but that doesn’t mean anything.

It seems they are into metal just because ‘they have to’ (!) and they have no song that’s worth it, even in this shitty style of theirs. Can you imagine the funniest mixture of In Extremo, Rammstein with the most pathetic cliché of European black metal: keys, violins etc and Cannibal Corpse themes in their lyrics in German? Can you, honestly? They aren’t bad players or suck in their instruments. What they play, though, is a cause for non-stop laughters! An idea capable of causing serious doubts on the members’ intelligence due to stupid musical perception follows any nice riff. On the other hand, Blutkehle’s voice is a tragedy and it couldn’t even scare a small child; maybe a German kid would be frightened understanding the lyrics!

Trying to place Eisregen in the metal scene is like comparing Augenthaler to Friedrich, Beckenbauer to Metzelder and Rummenigge to Klose! This CD is good listening exercise for those (like me) that learn German! The East Germany musicians shouldn’t wonder why there is so much unemployment...
