"White Hell"

Label: Massacre Records

Four years after the amazing Sicario”, one of the best thrash albums for this decade, Chile’s Criminal return. The group from day one didn’t follow stereotypes and despite some old Sepultura similarities, mostly in the vocal section, always offered fresh sound ideas from one album to another.

Sicario had an astonishing, heavy sound with aggressive tracks, full of serious, where needed, leads and many original ideas in their bridges. Same pattern seems to be followed in “White Hell” with an increase in the number of leads and a decrease in speed. The composing level is too high, especially in songs like Mobrule”, “Black Light”, “Sons Of Cainand “21st Century Paranoia”. In its whole this CD is for Criminal what “South Of Heaven” was for Slayer: the next step after a killer, previous release.

So, once again,
the metallers from Chile have studied well and with “White Hell” are established in the top seat of thrash metal. The completion of their compositions, combined with perfect performing, demanded nowadays and their fantastic sound are the elements for their success. Just listen to the beautiful changes of riffs and how they are built in their material and you’ll understand my point of view.
