"The Great Revival"
Label: Napalm Records
These Americans are not new in the scene. They established themselves, mostly, with their first three albums and toured Europe thoroughly, where they made a big name compared to their country. They have only a small gap in their two decade career for about 4 years in the period 2001-2005 when they disbanded. Their style is crossover with rap vocals and aggressive, heavy guitars and many power grooves.
The reunion album showed a decay in some way that has spread in “The Great Revival” like a plague! They start with some good tracks like "15 Minutes Of Fame" or "The Flood" that can in no way be compared to their ’90s dynamites. These 3-4 tracks are escorted by a pack of 5-6 in the likes of Kid Rock that not only have no reason to be there but are also unworthy to mention in their style. The new vocalist, Lord Nelson, unfortunately, doesn’t manage to cover Bonzy’s place, no matter how he tries to do so, while Ward’s vocals make you wish he never opened his mouth in the first place!
If you noticed what their label is you shouldn’t wonder of the band’s low standards. It’s what they say: “Whatever you touch turns to gold”. Irrelevant! |
