Desperadoz-An Eye For An Eye

Desperadoz

"An Eye For An Eye"

Label: AFM Records

A man kills his friend in the name of religion. Then this man is condemned to death again in the name of god. So we listen to him narrating his last hours before his execution…in the Wild West! This is the concept of the new Desperadoz cd “An eye for an eye”. Desperadoz proudly state that they are influenced by the dirty old Wild West and they sound much harder than…Ennio Morricone! If this is not irresistibly interesting then I don’t know what would be! So, Desperadoz play western metal and this is their third cd after their debut “The Dawn of Dying” and the conceptual album “The Legend and the Truth” which tells the tale of the legendary Whyatt Earp! We should also mention that Dennis Ward, known to us by my beloved Pink Cream 69, has contributed to the production of the cd. The only thing somebody could complaint about as far as the music of Desperadoz is concerned is that, during their attempt to create an entity for this hybrid that is called western metal, they mix up a lot of different music kinds and there might be a danger for someone to get lost …in translation. Of course this cannot prevent me at all from enjoying their music, their original cowboy feeling, the sharp riffs, the atmospheric slow moments, the western-inspired intros, Alex Kraft’s deep vocals, the german metal aggressiveness. The cd makes you have a good time, it really carries you back to the Far West. In the cd two covers are also included - the one is "Riders on he Storm" by The Doors, a song which is perfect for Alex’s voice and the other is "25 minutes" by Johnny Cash.

Closing, this was like making a nice trip back in time, where the gunslingers and the six-bullet guns
had the first and the last word…Yippieyeah..!
