Herman Frank
"Loyal To None"
Label: Metal Heaven
First solo album for the great guitarist Herman Frank, who has connect his name with Accept and masterpieces like ‘Restless and Wild’ and ‘Balls to the Wall’, but also with some other important German groups like Victory and Hazzard, and these are good news for every fan of heavy metal. This is the first studio in quite some years for Frank, and the reason is that his main concern lately has been the productions. Something that gives us an extra powerful and fresh result and it definitely doesn’t sound like being played from a veteran musician. The flame of heavy metal still burns inside Herman and the other members of the band who make a very strong line up which is comprised by Jiotis Parachidis (Vocals- Victory), Peter Pichl (Bass - Running Wild) and Stefan Schwarzmann (Drums – Accept, Helloween, Krokus).
The musical style is, of course, classic German ‘Accept-like’ metal with some power metal influences as at ‘Kill the King’ and ‘7 Star’ which are the greatest moments of the new album ‘Loyal To None’. But the rest 8 songs are standing in a very good level as well and make us forget that this style of metal is considered -by some people- as anachronistic. Reversely, the 10 very strong songs, the modern production from Herman Frank and the good vocals from Jiotis Parachidis compose one of the best albums from the German classic scene of the last years and it is worth to hear it. A very good choice for all the fans of traditional metal.
