Debauchery
"Continue To Kill"
Label: AFM Records
For those who don’t know, Debauchery is a German death metal band that was formed back in 2000 and they are already counting 5 albums (Kill Main Burn, Rage Of The Blood Beast, Torture Pit, Back In Blood) including this last one. In the past they have toured with Six Feet Under and their last tour (2007) was with Moonsorrow. Their new release was produced by Dennis Ward (Angra, Pink Cream 69, Krokus) while there are also a few guest musicians in it such as Schmier (Destruction), Tom Nauman (ex-Primal fear) and Tomasz (ex-Bellphegor). Debauchery’s music is a mix of Cannibal Corpse’s speed and Benediction’s groovy. In this album we have 14 songs of speedy, raw death metal with some melodic parts, that remind Swedish melodic death, and slow doomy songs with very heavy, massive guitars and drums like machine guns plus an excellent cover. Additionally, there is a cover version of Slayer’s “Angel Of Death”, which is one of the best covers I have heard. All the above give us a wonderful album that I am sure all the death metal fans will be listening for a long time. The closing track “Walking Glory Roads” is a pleasant surprise with many Hypocricy elements.
Ultimately, “Continue To Kill” is a great piece of work. If you are into death metal especially with vocals “emerging from the pit” I am sure you will like it. |
