Burning Point
"Empyre"
Label: Metal Heaven
There are countries that help considerably the preservation of classic heavy metal and power metal. One of these countries is definitely Finland, where Burning Point also come from, who are now back with their 4th album “Empyre”. The successor of “Burned Down The Enemy”, the band’s previous album, is a lot more inspired and impressive!
After a brief keyboard intro, theme from the “Godfather” movie, the album opens with the very good title track “Empyre”. A heavier rocker is “Manic Merry-Go-Round” with its Fifth Angel like chorus that sticks to your mind! Heavy/power metal and heavy rock compositions take turns, something that Burning Point know how to do very well and the result is here to speak for itself. “Face The Truth” is a fine excerpt of European power metal while the next ‘Heavens Gate vs Leatherwolf’-like “Fools Parade”, is pure melodic heavy metal stuff.
Like you have probably guessed, the new Burning Point album hardly leaves room for doubts; contrarily it provides all the good reasons to a fan of the genre to own it! The limited edition of “Empyre” includes three good covers: Running Wild’s “Gods Of Iron” (where we also find ‘ex-Running’ Wild Majk Moti as a guest), The Rods’ “Nuclear Skies” and Q5’s “Let Go”.
Burning Point is a promising heavy/power metal band and the “Empyre” is the last big proof about that. If you are loyal to classic heavy/power metal but you have not heard about Burning Point, the “Empyre” is a good chance for you to get to know this great band. If you are already a fan, I am sure “Empyre” will satisfy you as it includes all attributes of the band, a fact that is not keeping the band from evolving musically in any way!
