"Twilight Of Destiny"
Label: Frontiers
A new release from Frontiers with many surprises and that’s because, although it’s a new band, the truth is that it consists of experienced musicians who have worked for years in the genre and they are coming back with new stuff and ideas that actually amaze us with their originality and creativity.
Looking through the contributors of this project: Tony Mills -Vocals, Josh Ramos - Lead Guitars , Eric Ragno -Keyboards, Ron Smith -Rhythm Guitars, Doug Odell - Bass Guitar, Zane Petersen –Drums, first of all I am convinced, before I even listen to the very first note, about the quality of the result and then I am surprised by the loyalty of these musicians to their art considering that they have also other projects that take a lot of their time (e.g. Tony Mills and TNT).
Losing no time, the audition begins and I get my conformation by what I listen. Powerful tracks, with elegant choruses and integral playing, all tied in a perfect production. The band sounds like a European version of Journey, creating a fantastic result that fans of the genre will absolutely love. The songs don’t necessarily follow the clichés and they stand out for their quality and virtuosity. Right counting, nice choruses, soulful vocals and performance from Tony Mills who does his best. Nevertheless, I should note that the keyboards rule in this release, sometimes even against the guitars, which -I suppose- is the band’s choice, as well as the fact that there are many ballads that slow down the beat and that is not necessarily something bad.
Lastly, this release if of great interest for all the fans of good AOR & Hard Rock and we all know they are many out there.
