Doro
"Fear No Evil"
Label: AFM Records
Celebrating 25 years of devotion and career in heavy metal, the absolute metal queen returns with her new studio album entitled “Fear No Evil”. The fantastic artwork looks like it comes from the Warlock days and the fist listening of the CD simply wipes off any suspicions or doubts. A bridging of Warlock and Doro compositions unfolds during the album.
Truly, it has been some time since I have heard such a good and tied album from Doro. All the compositions are equally great making it enjoyable and special without becoming tiresome. Heavy riffs, melodic choruses that you absorb easily, killer guitar solos and performance worthy of a metal queen. The intros of each track make this ‘epic atmosphere’ cohesion while the production in general is clear and well done.
“Runnin’ For The Devil”, “Caught In A Battle”, “On The Run”, the “Fur Immer”-like “It Kills Me” and the fantastic “I Lay My Head Upon My Sword” are only some of the highlights of “Fear No Evil”. Don’t bother to look for unnecessary tracks or weak moments, there are not such in it.
2009 finds Doro returning to her roots and releasing an album rewarding her 25 year career, an album full of great songs, character and identity that can make it through time and get the recognition it deserves from the heavy metal fans. “Fear No Evil” is the proof that Doro still has a lot to give to the metal community.
A pure heavy metal album from a pure heavy metal queen. My suggestion is that you get to listen to “Fear No Evil” at once!
