Voodoo Circle
"Voodoo Circle"
Label: AFM Records
Voodoo Circle is a new project band that features a bunch of talented musicians of the new hard rock and heavy metal scene. Beginning from the soul of the project that is guitarist Alex Beyrodt (Silent Force, Sinner), we meet David Readman (PC 69) on vocals, Mat Sinner (Sinner, Primal Fear) on bass, Mel Gaynor (Gary Moore, Brian May, Simple Minds) on drums as well as less known Jimmy Kresic on keyboards. These names simply make Voodoo Circle a very interesting band I could say. Guest appearances by Rudy Sarzo (Dio, Ozzy, Whitesnake) and Doogie White (Rainbow, Yngwie J. Malmsteen etc.) and yet more complete the list of the great musicians involved in this project.
Listening to the album, my expectations from this ‘meeting’ of all the above mentioned musicians are simply confirmed! A full length album with quality and dynamics, great and memorable compositions, fantastic guitar parts and vocals from David Readman. Musically, Voodoo Circle combine ideally hard rock and heavy metal, with such influences as Pink Cream 69 –Readman era-, Rainbow, Yngwie J. Malmsteen etc., while Alex Beyrodt’s guitars give the whole project its own necessary unique identity. The album keeps the listener from the beginning to the end without sagging and it makes you wanna listen to it over and over again. I’ll mention no highlights because the whole release is actually a “highlight”!
Make sure you have plenty of time when you go for the fist listening of the album because, believe me, it will take you quite a while…A must have!
