Tesla
"Forever More"
Label: Tesla Electric
Tesla was one of the hair metal bands of the 80’s although I always had the idea that they broke loose from the standards and they were rather distant from everybody else’s success back then. For instance, try to remember that in the early 90’s they released the “Fine Men Acoustical Jam” with a video of “We Can Work It Our” along with “Signs” for the media. Nevertheless, I think they are a special band that we should check anyway.
Four years after the exceptional “Into The Now”, which unfortunately passed unmarked and I’d suggest you to listen to at once, comes “Forever More” with its more rock sense and ballad-like songs like “Just in Case” and “Fallin’ Apart” but also with its harder moments like “Forever more”, “I Wanna Live” and “One Day at a Time”. We also find this fine mid-tempo track “Breakin’ Free” which has amazing lyrics, and also the track “All Of Me” with this Papa Roach feeling. Then the album becomes a little bit tiring with the tracks “The First Time”, “PVT Ledbetter” and “In a Hola Again” but the band has saved “The Game” as the finale, a straight rocker with great playing and a powerful chorus.
In all, this is a well written record, although not as well as its predecessor, and I suggest you to check it out because, for one thing, this is a decent move from a decent band.
