Honeymoon Suite
"Clifton Hill"
Label: Frontiers
The Honeymoon Suite is not a new band as they were established in 1982. Old but good with a career that has to show 7 studio albums, a soundtrack for TV (Miami Vice) and some fine opening slots for great bands such as Heart, Journey, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Bryan Adams, Night Ranger e.t.c.
So much creativity in the past and a blasting cd today, after a period of 6 years in silence they release the “Clifton Hill” which is named after the place that the band comes from, as an honour. As they characterized it themselves, it seems as a return back to the same sound and taste the band had in the 80’s and by hearing it I could not do anything else but to agree with them.
The cd has 11 tracks that maintain the vintage feel of the 80’s but performed with the maturity and freshness of today. Fine performers and songwriters, they reminded me of Bryan Adams in a very good mood, and gave extensive lessons how soft rock must be played with out being boring. The production is very good and signifies the music, the only thing that misses is a hit in order to bring the desired sales, and anyway... they might not need this.
Finally, this release is for all the friends of good, classic soft rock and A.O.R.
