Lizhard
"S/T"
Label: Peris Records
Lizhard is an Italian Band which was created in 1995; it is a quartet that among other things, as it appears from their CV, they have opened in their country for famous musicians such as Eric Martin and White Lion.
Their music is a combination of hard rock & sleaze, based on classic rock while most of the songs are based in the pentatonic scale. Most of the tracks were written in mid tempo with catchy couplets, while additionally we can recognize a “vintage” taste. The vocals are clear but they don’t seem to have the “attitude” that is needed for the specific style of hard rock. The production has achieved the vintage sound (of the 80’s-90’s) but in my opinion the bass needed something different, in order to fill the songs with better results, therefore the result is not the desired in general, although we must say that the performing is accurate.
I believe that Lizhard have good elements and potentials as a band and they convince the listener for their capabilities, but they have to try harder if they want to succeed in the music stardom. First of all, they must believe themselves in their music, additionally they need a little more work in the sector of lyrics; I’d say they need to start performing “like there is no tomorrow”. |
