Axel Rudi Pell
"Tales Of The Crown"
Label: SPV/Steamhammer
Axel Rudi Pell is one of those musicians who hardly ever disappoint anyone with their releases, What he does, he knows how to do it well and he knows what his fans expect from his new album: straight heavy riffs, melodic choruses, in all pure melodic heavy metal. His new album, “Tales Of A Crown” is exactly what an Axel Rudi Pell fan expects. The guitar parts are great and they spread in a way that secures the composition instead of thrusting forward, like we have noticed in other virtuosos’ releases. This is probably what makes the difference between Axel Rudi Pell and other musicians; he can stand as a capable and efficient composer as well as a great guitarist and his solos always bubble over with melody and feeling! The album opens with “Higher”, a typical mid-tempo Pell track that disposes you for what will come next. “Ain’t Gonna Win” is a powerful track with a catchy chorus that gets in your head right away. “Angel Eyes” is also one of the highlights along with Riding On An Arrow”, “Buried My Soul” and the atmospheric ballads “Touching My Soul” and “Northern Lights”. The album has not weaknesses; it is a great album in all. “Tales Of A Crown” is an album that every Axel Rudi Pell fan will love. It is another journey into the magic of German heavy metal, lead and signed by the great Pell!
