"Demonic Art"

Label: Massacre Records

After 8 years and 4 albums with Nuclear Blast, Massacre Records releases the highly-expected for 3 years, Darkane’s “Demonic Art” to the record stores.

This band is one of the leading ones in pure thrash metal (along with ‘Carnal Forge’) since ‘The Haunted’ made their appearance. Stick on this! There is no retro or death / black metal elements in here. It’s 100% modern since you can hear some blast beats and samples (wouldn’t call them ‘industrial’ whatsoever…) but it doesn’t sound trendy; just contemporary! Exploding rhythm section, amazing guitar riffing in combination with introvert melody lines that match the lyrics about paranoia or other sick states of mind; there is also a slight antireligious spirit-or just my idea?-claimed also on the “Demonic Art” title. What we have here is a result of unbelievably high-standard material that we rarely listen from bands of this genre nowadays (forget about bands that remind you of past thrash titans…), created by unique guitar work along with all the smartly orchestrated diversity of rhythms and moods.

Enjoy killers like “Living In Existence”, the title track, “Absolution” or the storming, menacing “Execution” without leaving the rest far; some might claim this about their previous works. In this CD Darkane is undoubtedly the decade’s finest thrash act at its best.
All believers of the existence of contemporary thrash metal, that hadn’t discovered them yet, will enjoy hearing a band in great shape that kicks serious ass, without copying the past of their kind. It won’t be that easy to listen to something different for a while…
