"Face The Colossus"

Label: Season Of Mist

The French ‘Dagoba’ have just released their 3rd effort. They started with heavy / groovy metal with many Machine Head / Sepultura elements. Put more Swedish melodic / metalcore stuff along with keys / samples on their second album and now we can clearly see an act perfectly adjusted to the trends of today. All these have to do a lot with their characterization as an industrial metal band at their beginning because of some electronics they used!

Naturally, the band doesn’t justify (not that they ever did…) this term anymore. They are full of voice over’s, floods of keyboards (it’s also raining outside now...) and the typical vocals performed by almost every metalcore act of this pile. They become too ‘Swedish’ at times, whilst they’ve kept just a few good riffs and their larger-than-life sound from their great debut. Ok, some growls also in the middle of this CD…

Check their self-titled first full-length, it’s a bone crusher but if you’re not a metalcore collector you can fearlessly skip this.
