"Saudades de Rock"

Label: Frontiers

My friends and people who know me also know about me that I am always suspicious when it comes to reunions of bands that were big names back in the decade 1985-1995. The reason is obvious: is this the result of the need of musical expression or just a chance to obtain anything possible in any way?

Ladies and gentlemen, thirteen years after the “Waiting For The Punchline”, Extreme’s previous album, here comes the “Saudades de Rock”. The line up is the same. The only new addition is the new, brilliant drummer Kevin Figueiredo. As far as the rest it is simple, this is one of the best releases of 2008. Heavy funky tracks, vocals in the vein of Queen,  Nino Bettencourt soloing like a maniac, Pat Badger a rock on the bass, the new drummer just like I mentioned is “brilliant”, Gary Cherone hoarser than ever, all these compose one of the best comebacks of the latest years.

I only hope that some Greek promoter makes it to bring them to our country…as far as the album…if you don’t have it already…you lose!!!
