Sister Sin
"Switchblade Serenades"
Label: Metal Heaven
Sister Sin is a new band from Gothenburg, Sweden, and “Switchblade Serenades” is their debut album. Their style is actually a well-played dirty “street metal” with female vocals. I use the definition metal because Sister Sin’ style is not pure sleaze but it is balancing between sleaze and 80’s metal, while the influences of the band centre on Motley Crue, W.a.s.p., Motorhead, Warlock and Accept (like they have stated) and generally on the glory days of 80’s metal.
Their debut album “Switchblade Serenades” consists of 11 tracks and it carries all the necessary elements of a powerful street metal album such as “nerve”, dirty and demonic rock ‘n’ roll riffs, aggressive vocals from singer Liv, all “dressed” in melodies that lay an ideal result. Songs that stand out are “Death Will Greet Us”, “One Out of Ten”, “On Parol”, “Make My Day” and title track “Switchblade Serenades” which could easily stand as a single - all of them great compositions.
Sister Sin present a really good job that will fascinate many sleaze rockers but also the old time 80’s street metalheads! It is highly recommended to all fans of the genre. Check it out! Note: For more information about Sister Sin you can visit the official web page of the band www.sistersin.com as well as its official myspace page http://www.myspace.com/sisterssin where you can have a pre-listening of their debut album due for a release on September 26.
