Paganini
"Medicine Man"
Label: PaZouZou Records
When I hear the name of Paganini the first thing that comes in my mind is the notorious violinist Nicolo Paganini and his classic caprices. But Marc has nothing to do with all these. He is a charismatic frontman of Hard rock scene, with a long history and as it seems he still has a lot more to give to the rock community.
The cd starts with the self titled track, 'Medicine Man, a slow tempo, sensational rock track with piano and sleazy guitars. The next track is “The Secret” which follows the path of the first one. What I locate from the very first beginning is the maturity of the songs which is also reflected at the performing of the band as well. The tracks are well performed and give the desired result to the listener. I could say that the majority of the tracks is a combination of Velvet Revolver with the voice of Faster Pussycat and a dose of Quireboys. In almost the same style are and the rest of the titles, the music seems to come straight from the heart, well expressed with a hidden dynamic that appears within specific times, but it does not make you tired at all, -“Easy come Easy Go”-, while the listener can identify soul influences, like in track “Keep it Real”.
The overall production is quite good leaving no space for objections, while the booklet is remarkable. This cd is a very good suggestion for all the friends of sleaze rock.
