Rev Theory

"Light It Up"

Label: Interscope Records

This is a new band from the country that established the alternative sound, US of America. Rev Theory is  a band that worked hard before releasing their first album “Light It Up”.

The label that released the cd had a long ago taken the band on the road in a van with pizza and diet coke in order to make them learn the “job” in the hard way. Rev Theory have toured with bands such as Evanescence, Papa Roach, Buck Cherry and Saliva, and after those shows they always remained at he venues and distributed their promo cd, recruiting gradually their fans and becoming even stronger as a band (we, Greek bands, know that very well as it is the only way we go and we never know where it will take us!!!)

Band members are Rich Luzzi, Julien Jorgensen, Dave Agoglia, Matt McCloskey and Rikki Lixx. The first track of the album “Hell Yeah” literally leaves us speechless with its aggressiveness but at the same time melody as well as the awesome production and sound. Besides, what else should we expect from an American band who is under the concern of Grammy awarded producer Paul Ebersold (3 Doors Down, Saliva). The next tracks like “Favorite Disease” and “Light it Up” range with this aggressive sound even though in a little more alternative forms than “Hell Yeah”, which is a more glam track. There are also two amazing ballads, “Broken Bones” and the incredibly melodic “Ten Years” that simply take you away!

To sum up, the album consists of well written and well played tracks in terms of performing and production from a band that tries to win its place among the older bands of the genre, something that in my opinion they will easily achieve…
