Alliance
"Road To Heaven"
Label: Escape Music
Alliance are back with their third album and for those who don't know, this is a band consisted of: Robert Berry (GTR, Ambrosia, Hush) on vocals and bass, Gary Pihl (Sammy Hagar, Boston) on guitar, David Lauser (Sammy Hagar) on drums and Alan Fitzerald (Night Ranger) on keyboards. So, it is totally clear that this is a band whose members have quite a history in melodic rock. In my opinion, this is their best release up to now.
The album begins with the title track that is a classic rock track with an exceptional chorus and with great guitar and keyboards turns. Then, "I Can Breathe" shows a more pop/rock dimension of the band and "Make A Stand" is a decent ballad. “We Don’t Talk” and “Broken Glass” are also two fine melodic tracks written by Robert Berry. Alan Fitzerld has the leading role in a 6 minute epic track, “Remember those days”. The rest of the album are rather simpler and more indifferent tracks, although one more, “Not Done Till It’s Done", is getting closer to the quality of the previous tracks.
Lastly, fans of bands like Bad English or Giant will love this album. Although the band's two previous releases are good, this third one has all these elements that define a really good a.o.r. album.
