"Overheated"
Label: Escape Music
Polution are coming from Switzerland and "Overheated" is their debut album. After a ten year search the band found refuge in 2007 in Escape Music, which foresaw its abilities and this year it allowed the band to introduce itself to the wide audience through the 12 tracks (and a bonus only in the first pressing) of the album.
The first three songs "Reality", "Hard Work", "Overheated", are commentary of Polution's style. Well played Hard Rock full of energy, that will especially thrill friends of tight and up-tempo riffs combined with heavy tempos and "dirty" vocals in an array of "catchy" refrains. Basic influences of the band: AC/DC, Krokus, Gotthard, that is music with not many paints, hitting directly on target with the energy it emits.
The production of the album has been undertaken by the familiar from Coroner Tommy Vetterli and with its quality it adds necessary volume to the sound of Polution managing to bring out the unquestionable energy and freshness of the compositions. Speaking of compositions apart from the previously mentioned the following are also standing out: the boogie/hard "Same S*** Different Day", "Love It or Hate it" for its tight riff and nice vocal lines, the especially AC/DC like "Paid Soul", the rhythmic "Obsessed" and the almost heavy metal "Creation Of Hate".
In "Overheated" you won't listen anything particularly new. But, in the hash of new releases, an album is primarily achieving its aim, when the listener is unconsciously pressing the repeat button of his/her CD player, a sign that the album has something to say. Well, "Overheated" is this kind of album. It has nerve, power and soul, as in final analysis what else is Hard Rock if not SOUL?
Give "Overheated" the chance it deserves. By the way, is there anyone that doesn't want to get "pol(l)uted" with well played Ηard Rock?
