Land of Tales
"Land of Tales"
Label: Frontiers
This is a new release from Frontiers that loyal to its taste in melodic rock, releases the debut of Land of Tales. This is a new band from Finland, in which there are some musicians who have a memorable past in the country's music scene.
The style of their music is FM rock where the keys conquer and this is something that it is understood from the beginning, while the guitar is performed in a regular status, with no pleasant surprises at all and once in a while it gives us a solo. The couplets are melodic, but they don't have unique characteristics to make a difference to the audience and make it memorable. To be frank there are some sparks of fire such as: "Slow Waters" and "Wasted Chance", but it is not enough.
In my opinion the problem is that both, the keys and the guitar, play exactly the same tunes, and as a result there are no imaginative combinations of playing in order to make a tune exceptional.
For the end, I will close this review by mentioning one of their tracks, "Keep Out"…
