9 years I was waiting for Testament’s new album, 9 years I was waiting to hear Chuck’s voice, 9 years I was longing for Testament. 9 years it’s a long time and believe me, after “The Gathering” I was curious to hear what kind of album the beloved Testament would give us.

First I checked the line up of the band: Billy, Peterson, Skolnick, Christian, Bostaph... how could this release be bad. I pushed the play button on my cd player and… then I knew that Testament are back for good.

So we take “Ritual” and "The Gathering” we put them in a shaker and we have “Formation of Damnation”, a heavy thrash metal dynamite. I am a loyal fun of the band I can not deny it, but who among metalheads will hear this album and say that it does not worth the longing. Who will judge it with the worst way, who will be the one who says that Testament have no inspiration or no power, no guts to compose great music. From the beginning until the end, this cd makes you wonder how it will be to hear it live in to the pit. From the first note you feel the power, the magic force of their music… listen to the riffs, listen to how the rhythm section coordinates and be one with the band’s music.

9 years have passed and the result is outstanding, the cd is a diamond, a great album straight in your face. Welcome back Testament, we all hope we’ll be seeing you around for a long time with releases like this one because metal always needs itl “old wolves” to keep the flame burning and our heads banging. This album is “More Than Meets The Eye”.
