The last 3-4 years sleaze has come back with new blood of musicians and a new movement has been established, something that anyone can tell from the deal of new bands that appear the one after the other worldwide. Although the prevailing “sleaze-mania“ is a little “outtatime”, there are admittedly new bands that have indeed a good job to introduce and such bands are Crashdiet, Hardcore Superstar, Crazy Lixx and Gemini Five. Bastardz are in no way included in the above mentioned list. The will of each rock ‘n’ roll, hard rock, metal (you name it) band to officially release their music is absolutely normal and respected. However, the talent that is required for this is a totally different story.

Bastardz’s new album “Jungle Outlawz” has an essential “dirt” that definitely defines the sleaze genre, but the songwriting is tragically uninspired. I would describe it as tiring, washy and bad-delivered sleaze, and if you are a fan of Guns ‘N’ Roses, Hanoi Rocks, Vain or War Babies, this album has no chance to touch you. It is with no doubt the worst thing I have ever heard after Sea Hags, Enuff Z Nuff και Tattooed Loved Boys.

In general, I think that the album will find an audience that will not like it but it will also may find some fans...Music is a “bufet” and you choose what you will eat out of it according to your appetite...The last word belongs to you anyway!
