Tankard
"Vol(l)ume 14"
Label: AFM Records
New album by the beer thrashers from Germany 2 years past the release of the “Thirst” album. The things that you expect from these guys are fun, lots of beer and fast thrash metal but this time they ‘re not giving that away, at least not to the point that they were giving it to us with their previous releases, and that’s not a bad thing either... Of course the album has all those things a Tankard album must have but not in such hogh doses. The speed in this record has fallen with the tracks being some kind mid-tempo but with nice riffs and well worked solos. The strange thing is that in this album there are 3 tracks that go beyond six minutes in length! For Tankard is a new. The vocals of Andrea Geremia are in the classic motif without any turquoise and differences from their previous releases. The album has 10 tracks and there is a limited edition with a bonus dvd with the appearance of the band at the Headbangers Open Air Festival. With this record Tankard gave me something different, more serious and professional and not what they often used and I find their efforts notable. All you that listen to thrash metal and more specifically Tankard go on and give it a go.
