Walls Of Jericho
"Redemption"
Label: Trustkill/SPV
This EP must not be treated like another release of Walls of Jericho and we must not wait to listen to their familiar tone. This is more like a project, an experiment that they were thinking of for about six years as they do say so. Well, we listen to them while they are playing with acoustical instruments, with ballads and with their singer, who is using her voice in a clear and melodic way to sing whole songs for the first time. The tones are loose, the feelings and the nostalgia are in the first place, the compositions are athmospherical, the electric guitars are here only for the transitional and declaring leads.
Between these five songs there is a remix of the well-known “House of the Rising Sun” of Animals. This remix is very slow. To tell you the truth this is a low tempo song, but it should be performed with passion. “Ember Drive” and “Addicted” are special songs. At last keep in mind that this is a Corey Taylor’s production (singer of Slipknot singer and leader of the great Stone sour), who stages so thrilled with this movement and borrows his voice to 3 songs. An EP for chilling out moments…. |
