Danger Angel
"S/T"
Label: Perris Records
Danger Angel could very well be from the United States and the erstwhile thriving L.A. hard/glam scene. Alas! This is a purely Greek band whose overflowing talent is reminiscent of that scene’s glorious past times however with today’s freshness. The homonymous debut album of Danger Angel has been released containing 13 tracks characterized by loud choruses, party mood, energy & soul. Besides, these are the components of quality hard / glam. Having seen the band live I was impressed by its tightness and fun. So I am happy to note that these elements are fully crystallized in their first record attempt and are its undisputed springboard. Musically, the band is a successful combination of hard rock, glam & AOR revealing thus the diversity of its influences. The cd starts dynamically with three hits entering the listener at once to the rock party of the band. The first track "Com 'On Rock Me" is a strong manifest of the band’s intentions and continuity is equally dynamic with "Runaway Angel" & "Poison Dreams". Without actually lagging behind, other tracks worthy of note are the rhythmic "Rebel Son", "Never Let You Go" with the vocals of Jeff Scott Soto taking it off, the glam anthem "Hangover" and the heartbreaking ballad "Till The End Of Time "with the female vocal accompaniment bringing a dramatic atmosphere. All tracks are dominated by a continuous orgasm of powerful guitar themes interacting with keyboards and the tight rhythm section, along with the elaborate vocals which seal the quality of the compositions. "Danger Angel" is a complete album with excellent production which in no way resembles other "Greek conscientious efforts" but shows a highly professional group of global reach in an expression of rock with no particular representation and tradition. No doubt 2010 began with the best omens and it seems that it is time the Greek hard / glam scene finally took the flag abroad. A flag waving proudly and "dangerously" under the rock decibels of Danger Angel.
