Grenouer
"Presence With War"
Label: Casket
Grenouer is a band from St. Petersburg that has released 6 (!) studio albums with more recent, last year’s “Lifelong Days”. Before that release, Casket records had re-issued 2007’s “Try” world wide and does the same, now, for “Presence With War”. This album came out in 2004 with a clear, antiwar subject, especially to those who try to find reason from it. What is, definitely, without any reason is calling this act thrash / death metal since they just pick up things and leave. Don’t be surprised if you find similarities to their “Lifelong…” album that was named ‘industrial metal’ (not a chance)! Grenouer, five years ago, played solid and groovy with some good riffs but less ‘electronics’, compared to nowadays, and kind of rougher voice. “Presence With War” is plane in all tracks, there are no distinguishable tracks but you won’t feel the need to break the CD. The decent, hard working and earnest fellows of the old UEFA Cup winner, Zenith, might do their miracle some time. We’ll be around… P.S.: the electronic remix that tries to convince about Grenouer’s turn to industrial and is used as a bonus at the end of the album is pretty funny…
