After 2007’s “Bleed The Filth”, its vocal issues and its impressive music, the band Dino Cazares and Tim Yeung have put together is back. Cazares, stuck with the Fear Factory type of vocals, where aggression and melody go hand in hand, castrated their debut. Despite the wonderful music what the hell could Cummings have in common with Burton C. Bell??? Unfortunately, the ‘new’ Travis Neal is even worse in his melody vocals. We are fed once more with the sissy, typical American vocals that almost all modern bands do next to demolishing ideas of crazy riffs and even crazier double bass drumming. The album could be revolutionary for metal if it had proper vocals. The astonishing riffs by the Mexican would create majestic, new Fear Factory albums (not like their latest ones…) while Tim Yeung (ex-Hate Eternal) is merciless with his kit. But can you hear stupid, emo vocals next to such blasting moments? He could’ve screamed all time around or at least keep a higher level like in “Anarchaos” for example. So, we’re left waiting for the new Fear Factory effort since the return of Cazares and the addition of Stroud / Hoglan (Strapping Young Lad, Tenet) in the rhythm section. No offence, in those moments where the ‘sissy’ behaves like a guy and allows us to enjoy the ‘machine-gun’, the album gives a total payback; it’s just his emo ones that don’t fit, period!
