Leave's Eyes

"Njord"

Label: Napalm

Leave’s Eyes were created in 2003, when Liv Kristine left Theatre Of Tragedy’s company and with Atrocity’s members (Alexander Krull, Thorsten Bauer, Mathias Roderer, Alla Fedynitch, Seven Antonopoulos) formed today’s strength. Before I  even listened to the album and when I firstly saw the cover, I thought that it would be a classic case of mediocre music, that the band wanted to exaggerate about with a cover of various items. It has a strong 'gothic' vein in combination with the Viking’s ships and Liv Kristine’s atmospheric figure, so at first I kept my reservations.

So, I heard for the first time the first track of the disc , the title track, and I realized that my reservations did not exist anymore. This symphonic gothic band does great it’s job and with this release it seems more grown up than ever. Impeccable combination of symphonic items with gothic magic and with all folk items can make the listener travel in dreamy places to the most utter battlefield. Tracks such as: “My Destiny”, “Emerald Island”, “Take The Devil In Me”, “Through Your Veins”, “Northbound” and “Ragnarok” with their hard guitar melodies, operatic vocals and brutal delirium by Liv’s husband, Alexander Krull(keyboards) give depth and energy to this unique creation. On the other edge of feelings travel us tracks such as “Scarborough Fair”, “Irish Rain”, “Morgenland”, “The Holy Bond” and “Froyas Theme”, which give the most painless atmospheric liberation that nobody wants.

The record “Njord” is the reflection and process of this music band in these years. Also, for this creation the band was cooperated with Lingua Mortis Orchestra, with Victor’s Smolski patronage and classic choir. It’s worthly of known that there are thee different releases for this disc, which are: Jewel Case, Digipac and Special Edition, which contains a Viking ship(I am not sure if this was needed, but anyway!).
