"Leatherhead"

Label: AFM Records

Loyal to its every two years appointment, the legendary Accept’s voice comes back to the scene in 2011 with a new L.p. called “Rev-Raptor”. And as always before every new album we have a new E.p. “Leatherhead” same as the previus one “Infected” contains many good things that will definitely satisfy his die-hard fans. As in almost every single the first one is the title track in which I believe shows the band’s appetite. “Leatherhead” begins with a great modern heavy metal riff that maybe shows us the direction of the new album and continuous with a classic metal bridge and a chorus that remind us the Accept years. A very strong song that makes you to look forward for the new album and also shows that the band has been affected by the last amazing Accept album “Blood Of The Nations”. In contrary, the second song “Rock ‘n’ Roll Soldiers”, that also is an album track, as it is obvious from its title is an ultra classic song with a catchy chorus and a very good solo job from Stefan Kaufmann.

Of course, the substance of this release is the bonus tracks that contains, which maybe some of you have already heard in the release of “Thundervision” DVD back in 2004. “Free Or Rebellion” is is a classic U.D.O. song that despite its very good melody in the middle of the song can’t plus something special in U.D.O.’s discography, while “Run!” is a nice ballad but nothing more. Finally the E.p. that as I suppose will be release in Video C.d. format or DVD contains the recent filmed, and very good, new video for “Leatherhead”, and one more for “Jinglle Balls”.

In total, “Leatherhead”  E.p. is a filling release same as every previous one. Furthermore, if the new album has the quality of the first two songs then I believe will be a very good C.d. The die-hard fans can start with this and to be patience some days more for “Rev Raptor”.
